Checklist items are grouped by category -- Engine and Hydraulics, Safety, Electrical, and more. Each item gets a one-tap pass or fail. Hit the mark-all-pass button when everything checks out. Templates are set per vehicle type or category, with the option to customise per individual vehicle.
When an item fails, the operator is prompted to report the issue immediately. Select a severity level -- minor, major, or critical -- capture photo evidence with the device camera, and add a description. Failed items create a clear record that flows through to the vehicle's repair queue.
Prestart results flow directly into vehicle cards via the health strip. A critical issue flags the vehicle immediately so it cannot be missed. The last prestart status is visible at a glance on every vehicle card, and failed prestarts link directly to repair job creation.
Prestarts work offline via a localStorage queue. Complete a prestart with no signal and it auto-syncs when the device reconnects. Retry logic with exponential backoff handles flaky connections. Vehicle readings are captured at prestart time so hour and km logs stay accurate even in remote areas.
